Common
The northern red oak tree is found across the world, including in the eastern and central parts of North America and North Carolina. Red oak is hard and heavy, with medium bending strength, which allows it to be used for steam bending. It is also porous, making it easy to treat with stains and wood treatments.
Regional Material
Red oak is often used for woodworking, furniture making, molding, and creating interior objects.
