In 2025, the Virginia A. Groot Residency at the Center for Craft will support seven craft artists in Western North Carolina in the wake of Hurricane Helene. Participants in this six-month program will receive a $15,000 honorarium and join the WNC Craft Futures Cohort, as well as being featured in a group exhibition in the Center’s Bresler Family Gallery.
Four artists will receive approximately 200 square feet of free studio space in the Center's Ideation Lab. Three previous recipients of the Virgina A. Groot Foundation will be invited to participate in the cohort and complete the residency at their home studios.
