Meet the
Recipients

In 2023 and 2024, the Virginia A. Groot Material Exploration Residency consisted of an 8-week residency in Asheville, North Carolina that provided a cohort of four craft-based artists the time to develop their work, explore new materials, and access shared learning experiences. Meet our 2024 artists:

To Ayumi Horie who through conversations with the Center for Craft planted the seed for the Craft Archive Fellowship, helped with grant development and generously contributed funding to make this program possible! Read more in our interview with Ayumi here.
