What inspires you?

Every single day, my clients give me such inspiration! The excitement they feel when they see their ideas actually coming to life and becoming a book is a privilege to witness … their joy is contagious, and it makes me appreciate what I do even more.

How does creativity play into your work?

Editing is not just fixing mistakes. It is more about moving around words, paragraphs, or pages of text, trying them in different places, until they fit perfectly -- just like a puzzle, or a painting: so that when you stand back and look at the final work, it is a beautiful, cohesive whole.

What is your ideal creative space?

Anywhere I can focus, which some days is on my couch; other times it's at my amazing cowork space (I'm talking about you, Center for Craft!) and sometimes it's outside in my hammock!

What song, author, YouTuber, podcast, activity, etc. gets you out of a creative funk?

When I'm stuck, 99% of the time it's because I need to eat. It's as simple as that!

What advice would you give your 16 year old self?

Do what you want to do right now -- don't wait for someone to hold your hand. The universe is a magical place. You will always be taken care of.

What is your latest project?

I am absolutely jump-for-joy THRILLED to be editing a book about the history of the national main street movement, written by one of the people who helped get it all started. Next project: Sci-Fi! Time travel during a pandemic … (sounds good to me!)
