Windgate-Lamar Fellowship
2019
Statement: I design and build one-of-a-kind or small batch production furniture pieces from a craft centered, studio-based practice. My process employs wooden furniture as a structure to present a specific form or material, calling attention to its individual characteristics, personality, and significance. Fellowship Plans: The Windgate Fellowship will grant me the resources and experiences from which I will develop a body of work that I will apply to both market fairs and residencies. I will rent studio space and equip it with the tools necessary to begin and maintain my furniture making career. I will attend a summer woodcarving workshop at Haystack Mountain that will teach me new skills and connect me to a larger craft community.
