2020
Asheville Writers In The Schools & Communities programming has occurred in shared space for four years and virtually from mid-March until June. Our ability to continue meeting during the pandemic has provided an opportunity for youth to maintain meaningful social interaction with their peers. This month, we became tenants with dedicated program space at a community center. We will engage local makers of color and program youth in the creation of functional art to be used to make the program space more youth-friendly and welcoming.
