While schools are closed due to Covid-19 Mingei is pivoting to mailing free craft kits and essential classroom supplies directly to three Title 1 schools in underserved neighborhoods. This program serves 300 students in schools that Mingei already had long term existing partnerships with. Mingei educators, after talking to teachers, discovered that these communities have been hit hard. In order to respond to educator’s additional needs the Museum has also made bilingual video lessons and instructions available online.
