2020
Uproot provides resources to foster a BIPOC student-led coalition and website to support equitable education through craft and wellness. Black, Indigenous, and Latinx communities have been hit harder by Coronavirus, affecting their students. UCSB Art and other art schools are facing massive budget cuts that these students heavily rely on for supplies and community building. We are seeking support to pay BIPOC students to curate workshops, tutorials, and artist lectures on the topic of decolonial education and craft, resulting in a website where knowledge is available for all.
