Windgate-Lamar Fellowship
2018
Newberg set out to enrich their practice by traveling to the studio and electroforming set up at the University of Iowa, as well as understand the legacy and philosophy that Chunghi Choo has left on their studio. They would also travel to Philadelphia to interview Stanley Lechtzin, and attend Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven.
The Windgate Fellowship will allow me to travel to the University of Iowa to visit their studio and electroforming setup, as well as Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven, Netherlands. The Fellowship will allow me to hone my electroforming skills in a personal studio and share what I learn about electroforming with my community through writing and workshops. I plan to publish a technical article on electroforming and an exhibition on young women and silversmithing.
